Irish Independence - Belfast.

A collection of photographs (October 2011) showing some sights and scenes of Irish Republican/Irish Independence related history in Belfast. Included are the Peace Wall and Murals of the Falls Road, The Clonard Martyrs Memorial Garden as well as the Republican Plot at Milltown Cemetery. Also featured are James Connolly's one time Belfast home. The Long Kesh/Maze, H-Block prison site location of the historically significant 1981 Hunger Strikes and also 1983 Mass prison breakout (also pictures from a Maze Prison escape lecture). Finishing with pictures from the excellent Roddy McCorley Society Museum.

Milltown Cemetery, Falls Road, Belfast. In memory of Lieut Thomas Williams (1st Belfast Batt.) aged 19 years who was executed in Belfast Prison 2nd September 1942 and interred there. The following are the names of his fellow sufferers in the jails of the Country Antrim in the same cause in the year 1866-7 : John Griffith, Francis O'Neill, Robert Johnston, Coroon O'Neill, Edward Gilmore, John O Rorke, Michael O Hanlon, John Cunningham, Charles Carroll, John Loughrey, Daniel Garrach, John Johnston, Phillip Harbingson, Michael J McConical, Francis Rea, Henry O'Hagan, Francis Rooney, Hugh McGuckin.
